For the majority of human history, agriculture and production can be described as organic.  However, since the 20th century, synthetic materials such as chemicals, pesticides and hormones were introduced and they are now prevalent in products we eat and use.  Sustained usage of such tainted products is proven to have irreversible negative impacts on our well being and the environment.

The word “Organic” does not mean much these days; it is misused by irresponsible producers to market products and does not reflect the quality of the product.  As a result, unless you are personally involved in the production, you have little means to ascertain if the product is truly organic.

Similarly, in-house organic certifications that commercialised producers run offers limited to no information on certification standards used and the potential conflict-of-interest of a producer certifying his own products have increasingly caused concerns.
